Delta Protection Commission Public Meeting, Big Break Visitor Center, Oakley, 5:30 p.m. The Delta Protection Advisory Committee (DPAC) will hold public meetings throughout the Delta to receive comments on the staff draft of the Land Use and Resource Management Plan (LURMP). The LURMP is the Delta Protection Commission's land use plan that guides local government land use decisions in the Delta primary zone (interior Delta). It was last updated in 2010. A History of Yachting in Our Beautiful and Endangered California Delta, Yachting Luncheon, St. Francis Yacht Club, San Francisco, noon-1:30 p.m. Sacramento native Bill Wells, executive director of the California Delta Chambers & Visitor's Bureau will speak.

Paint (or Sketch) the Town, Main St., Locke, 9:30 a.m.-noon. With Delta artist Martha Esch. Bring a camera, bring the kids, bring a lunch or eat at Locke Garden Restaurant or Al the Wop's. Weather permitting.

Delta Blues Festival Benefit Concert, El Campanil Theatre, downtown Antioch, 7-10 p.m. Featuring Shemekia Copeland, Jason James & the Upsetters, and Frankie G & the Conviction with Steve Freund. Raises funds for musical scholarships.

March 5-6
California Boating Congress, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Old Town Sacramento. Cocktail reception on the evening of March 5. On March 6, the marine industry and boating community come to Sacramento to advocate on issues affecting this important part of California's economy and culture. There will be government and industry speakers in the morning and a chance to meet with your legislator in the afternoon. Registration early bird price $179 by 2/15; $229 thereafter. Delta Lore with Bill Wells, Spaulding Marine Center, Sausalito, 6:30-8 p.m. Bill is the executive director of the California Delta Chambers & Visitors Bureau. He will share photos dating back to the early 20th century and explain the early settlement of the Delta by Native Americans and then Europeans.
