February 27
Black History within the Historic Stockton Waterfront District/Sesquicentennial Freedom Celebration, 445 W.Weber Ave., Stockton, 4:00-7:00 p.m. Rev. Jeremiah Burke Sanderson and the Elk Street School for African, Asian and Indian students was part of a vibrant Stockton Waterfront District in 1840-1875.

February 28

Kayak Brown's Island, Pittsburg. 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Many rare plant species and a multitude of aquatic birds inhabit Brown's Island, a 59- acre tule island north of Pittsburg. Sturgeon in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Watershed, UC Davis ARC Ballroom 1, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Science symposium held by the Delta Stewardship Council regarding conservation and management. Free and open to the public.

March 5
Moonlight Paddle, Brentwood. Launch kayaks before the sun sets at 6:03 and before the moon rises over the Delta at 6:21 p.m. and leisurely paddle around the many small islands enjoying the peace and serenity. $54. Delta Kayak Adventures will provide kayak, paddle and PFD. If you are new to paddling they suggest bringing a friend and paddling one of our stable double kayaks. (925) 642-5764.

March 8
Wimpy's Run, Galt. 12:45-5:00 p.m. Paddle from the Cosumnes River Preserve to Wimpy's Marina down the Mokelumne River. Meet at the preserve and then set up a shuttle to leave as many vehicles as possible at Wimpy's. This is a fun, easy paddle on a gentle current for a little over 5 miles. Feel free to bring your fishing pole and license. Great for beginners and experts.

March 11
Tales of Two Rivers — Kayaking California's Two Longest and Significantly Imperiled Rivers, featuring environmental reporter Glen Martin, who kayaked the Sacramento, through the Delta to the Golden Gate; and CNN reporter John Sutter, who kayaked and walked the length of the San Joaquin through the Delta to the Golden Gate. March 14
Rockin' on the River, Rosa’s at Tower Park, Lodi, noon to 6:00 p.m. $10 tickets at the door. Live music from blues, rock and country bands; silent auction.
